SAFIR: youth in action 2021

SAFIR project is an initiative led by Properad aimed at empowering and equipping ambassadors with the necessary skills and knowledge to create a positive impact within their communities. Through this project, ambassadors will undergo comprehensive training programs designed to enhance their leadership abilities and enable them to become influential change-makers. With a focus on community development, the ambassadors will be taught effective communication strategies, problem-solving techniques, and innovative approaches to address social issues. By equipping these ambassadors with the tools and resources they need, the SAFIR project aims to create a ripple effect of positive change within their communities, ultimately leading to a more inclusive and prosperous society.

  • 55 young active have been trained on advocacy on SDGs 17 and agenda 2030 in the context of Morocco.

  • Participating at three regional hubs in the program of Safir.

  • 80 beneficiaries benefited from the action plans of the main participants on SDGs 17 and agenda 2030.

Together f​or Sijilmassa of Tomorrow 2020-2021

As part of our commitment to youth empowerment, Proper Thought for Development successfully implemented the project Together for Sijilmassa of Tomorrow, funded by the French Embassy in Morocco. Building on the success of our Entrepreneurship for All initiative—where over 90 young men and women were trained in business creation and income-generating projects—and our Civic Education Train-the-Trainer program, this project aimed to strengthen youth capacities in entrepreneurship and civic education.

Implemented in Rissani (Sijilmassa), this initiative recognized the city's historical and intellectual value. It equipped young people with the tools for active civic engagement, social cohesion, and economic development through the following training programs:

General background of the project

Civic Education Train-the-Trainer Program: participants underwent intensive training in civic education, peaceful conflict resolution, and facilitation skills. They developed and conducted their own workshops within their institutions and communities, applying the methodologies they had acquired.

Green Entrepreneurship and Business Creation Training: aspiring entrepreneurs received training on launching and managing sustainable businesses, equipping them with the necessary tools for a solid business foundation.

Net3awno Business Incubator: The project facilitated networking between entrepreneurs and mentors, helping them secure funding through banks, financial institutions, and government programs like Intilaka and INDH.

Conference on Social Cohesion & Sustainable Development: In celebration of the World Day counter Desertification and Drought, we hosted a conference on migration, climate change, and entrepreneurship in the Draa-Tafilalet region. Experts, community leaders, and organizations gathered to develop actionable recommendations to address the region’s challenges. Through these activities, the project successfully contributed to empowering youth and fostering sustainable community development in Rissani and beyond.

CAPACITY BUILDING OF YOUTH IN MEKNES 2021-2022

Apart from our initiative let’s Volunteer, we have had a lot of open days for youth in the following topics either in schools or within our organization.

  • Youth and new technology in digital era, it was an two days sessions for children and their parent, we sensitize them about the importance of observing and following their children when it comes to use internet and computer.

  • We are working also on SDGs 8, WE trainer 94 young male and female on entrepreneurship and all steps to start up starting from mindset to achieving the business plan as well as technics of job creation and creative ideas to innovative projects. We named the project with EFORALL, 15% succeeded to launch up their projects. These trainings conducted by trainers in entrepreneurship end expert in economics and banking who were volunteers with us.

  • Building capacity of children, human development training and mental math was title of a series of activities for children in our community in Meknes. We believe on education and training can be triggers and boost for young generation to be good citizens for themselves and for the community.

  • Family orientation and the rules of good education of the children was a topic of open days with parents, aiming with this bring parents together to understand dialogue methods with children, effective tools controlling the behavior of children and orient it and exploit it for common goals.

DIALOGUE AND TRANSITION

Dialogue and transition initiative aims to promote the culture of dialogue among the university students and supporting their role in peacebuilding activities that contribute to living together in dignity and dialogue among university discussions. Dialogue and transition as key step to counter hate and violence at the university between students based on the ideological and ethnical differences. That is very true, among the history, there were a lot of tensions between students based on ethnic and political backgrounds.

- 40 youth got intensive training in 6 months.

- 160 university students involved in the ground campaign at Moulay Ismail university

- More 5000 beneficiaries via online videos and publications in the social media.

TRAINING TEACHERS ON EDUCATIONAL PRDAGOGY AND SOFT SKILLS OF EDUCATION

Since 2018, we trained more than 400 teachers male and female on education n and pedagogy, we bring teachers together to enhance the process of teaching and raise good quality of learning process. This training led by professors and educational inspectors from the higher school of educations and ministry of education, the goals of this program is taking part of national plan of education.

MEKNES MODEL UNITED NATIONS 2019

Proper Thought for development had the pleasure to organize and host Meknes Model United Nations. MEKMUN 2019 was one of these high programs that have been held in Meknes in its first edition from 10 to 13 Oct 2019. That is to say, 42 young participants from Morocco, Algeria, Jordan, Gambia , Pakistan, Nigeria have taken part in MEKMUN conference, they come together with good inspiration to discuss two main topics of MEKMUN 2019 within two committees:
- UN ECOSOC: The role of youth in political decision-making
- Special Committee: how will artificial intelligence change the Moroccan society in the upcoming years? MEKNMUN 2019 came into existence thanks to our partners and sponsors: Konrad Adenauer Stiftung Maroc, Regional Directorate of the Ministry of Culture and Communication in Fes-Meknes, and MUN Morocco.

YOUNG MEDITERRANEAN VOCIE 2020 MOROCCO

Proper Thought for development PTD was one of the four organizations in Morocco which succeeded to host the project Young Mediterranean Voice in Morocco seeks to empower young women and men to enhance a culture of dialogue, to contribute to public policy and shape media discourses. It was a very fantastic project for youth; it brings youth working together through dialogue and debate, to create a common Mediterranean understanding. The program has established a successful model for training young people in debate and dialogue techniques to provide leadership opportunities and reaffirm young people’s role as “agents of change”.

YMV program starts from June 2020 and ends Oct 2020, we trained 90 young form three different regions in Morocco and it took place in these cities (Meknes, Fes, Medalt), the program policy is to train youth theoretically and practically, then they go through competitions at local regional levels and finally at national level with the other organizations.

YMV is coordinated by the Anna Lindh Foundation, co-founded by the British Council, and developed in partnership with the Centre for Mediterranean Integration (CMI), Friends of Europe, the World Leadership Alliance-Club de Madrid, MEDAC and Soliya. The programme is funded by the European Commission and co-funded by the Government of Finland, the British Council and World Bank Group.

Training of the trainers in civic education: ''building civic education in Morocco: identity, diversity, and change''

Proper thought for development has the pleasure to host Trainer of trainers in civic education journey comes under the framework of the “Dialogue & Transition” program supported by the German Federal Foreign Office, with the Goethe-Institute and the Center for Applied Policy Research (CAP) at the Ludwig-Maximilians-University in Munich. We have continuously understood that we have to multiply our trainings, and to adopt it in the Moroccan context, the national training of our TOI, targeting Civic Education Trainers in Morocco was a deep introduction to understand more the actual need of the specific approach of civic education approach we apply. Not only in multiplying trainings, but also the importance to create a Moroccan network of trainers, to target different region, and new target groups. The idea is to which target group need to start with to ensure a sustainable civic education in Morocco.

  • The TOT progam comes into existence thanks to the sponsoring of Goethe institute, the ministry of foreign affairs of Germany, and the effort of volunteer trainers of the Proper thought for Development in Meknes.

  • The project took place in Meknes during three modules from July 2019 to Nov 2019.

LET'S VOLUNTEER INITIATIVE 2019 THE 1ST EDITION

On January, 11th 2019 at 16:30 in the chamber of commerce, trade and services in Meknes, we were glad to launch the project: “Let’s volunteer” in Meknes, Morocco. The goal of this this initiative is basically to spread the culture of volunteerism among people, especially smart volunteering and that’s why we limit our volunteering campaign in these dimensions:

● Volunteering in education: teaching languages, school subjects, social sciences.

● Volunteering in new technologies: volunteering in ICTs, E-trade, and computer skills

● Volunteering in Art: volunteering in Art such as painting, music, dance, animation and everything is related to art.

● Volunteering in Soft skills: Volunteering in leadership skills, capacity building, human development, family orientation.

168 people benefited for this campaign during six months from January to June 2019, We received more than 130 applicants who have strong desire to get involved in this social venture, they believe that the social cooperation is when you give volunteer without waiting for getting paid.

high school and university students, women, men and children who entirely need to benefit from volunteering..
